SIM to microSIM Adaptor Futile Attempt. 심-마이크로심 어댑터 삽질기.

Recently I have purchased, the microSIM to SIM adaptor in anticipation of the soon to be released iPhone 4G. Reason for purchase was simple, to be prepared for in case of having to use non-micro SIM phones(which are majority still)

To my dismay, no matter how I cut, it did not work...

Turns out that THREE SIM card has such a massive contact area that it could not be positioned, properly to make a contact. Basically what happens is that, compared to AT&T one below, THREE SIM has extra pins on the bottom. This pins add additional vertical length when put in adaptor resulting in misalignment and non-contact. Overall, this adaptor was not suitable for this particular SIM.

In fact, AT&T micro SIM may not be compatible seeing that it has similar kind of contact area. But I was not able to confirm this as I dont have iPad 3G handy..

I will update when my fd's adaptor arrives...

Meanwhile I have modified the adaptor .... which is a lot more stable to sticky tape scaffold shown on very left on first picture...
