As if we did not know: iPhone 3G confirmed by new firmware. 3G 세팅메뉴 아이폰 2.0 베타 5 펌웨어에 등장

We all knew 3G iPhone was coming but it was never really confirmed by any 'Apple' source(Not to be

confused with one that put on top of the beef cutlet).

Now uncovered[it is not shown by default] by a iPhone developer, 3G setting menu confirms that

Apple is indeed going for 3G iPhone. Little bit late but not too bad.

One thing that comes to my mind though is that does that mean

it only supports the 384kbps speed.

This could well be the case; when you look at the bottom of the

'3G' setting switch it reads that turning 3G on may increase

the battery usage. And HSDPA even more so and it

appears that if HSDPA is indeed on board, they

should have included the separate setting for it. Technically

HSDPA is part of 3G so may be I am being to picky but who knows.

[But I am aware of the supposed band-chip is HSDPA 7.2Mbps Capable]

Adding petrol onto this confirmation is iPhone drought[more like

complete dessication] in Apple Store in both US and UK.

3G 아이폰이 나올 것이라는것은 거의 기정사실화 됬습니다만

애플을 통한 직접적인 뉴스는 없었습니다.

하지만 이번 베타 펌웨어 5에 숨겨진 기능중 하나가

바로 3G ON/OFF 기능이라는군요. 단 이 3G 가

기본속도인 384kbps에 제한되지 않을까 하는 불안감이

없지않아 있습니다.

이 추측의 이유로는 3G 세팅창 아래 배터리

사용량이 늘어날 수 있다고 써있는데

HSDPA도 배터리가 더 들어가는 이상(3G 보다도)

만약에 HSDPA가 있었다면 따로 메뉴가 있었지 않을까 하는 생각에서입니다.

물론 엄밀히 따지면 HSDPA도 3G이긴 합니다만 혹시나 해서

한번 생각해보았습니다.

[물론 베이스벤드 칩이 HSDPA 7.2Mbps를 지원할것이라는 얘기는

있었지만 말이죠..]

불에 기름 붙는 격으로 현재 미국과 영국 애플스토어에

아이폰이 씨가 마름으로서 6월 초 출시에 힘이

실리고 있는듯 합니다. 물론 일시적인 물량 확보

불가일 가능성도 있습니다.
