How to access Airdisk over the internet

First Set Up DNS Service. This done so that you can access your home router even if it changes IP.

Use services such as dyndns.com. Some routers may support DNS settings. Enter the settings you get from registering to websites like dyndns.com

Port Forwarding

Figure out the IP of the Airport then using Airport Utility

for afp connection(Apple Only)

Open port 548

for smb connection(Windows)

445 & 139 for SMABA(SMB)

Accessing your airdisk

Go to finder cmd +K

(I have not figured out how to do it in WIndows yet..)

smb:// …

afp:// …

http:// ...

followed by

YOUR HOST ADDRES

Eg.

smb://myname.dyndns.com/
